Morendat Institute of Oil & Gas (MIOG) offers training in oil & gas related courses. It was set up following a heads of state summit consisting of presidents of Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda and South Sudan during the 3rd Heads of State Summit held in Kigali, Rwanda, on October 28, 2013. In this meeting, member states resolved to establish Centres of Excellence in the region to offer capacity building for the Northern Corridor Integration Projects (NCIP).
MIOG is determined to achieve its vision of being “A Premier CBET Institution for Oil & Gas in Africa”. This is imperative in readiness for the emerging Oil and Gas opportunities in the Great Lakes region of Eastern and Central Africa. To realise this, various support initiatives are welcome.

I started my training in Morendat Institute of Oil and Gas in September 2016, looking to acquire skills on testing of fuel oils and lubricants. Training in Morendat Institute of Oil and Gas turned out to be an excellent choice for someone who wants to further their oil and gas careers. It provides a hands-on experience with world standard programs. They believe in continuous practicing as the essential part of learning. The trainers focus on learning from past mistakes to achieve competence and expertise. The training allows teamwork as well as individual decision making. With the availability of up to date equipment, one becomes knowledgeable in all aspects of oil and gas analysis. I am therefore grateful for the opportunity to grow with Morendat Institute of Oil and Gas.

As alumni of and one of the pioneer students of Morendat Institute of Oil and Gas, I must say that the institution has had a huge impact on my career in Oil and gas; I have gained more skills that otherwise no other institution in the region could offer. The competence based training in which students have to undergo skills recognition acknowledgment by the assessors and made aware of the dangers associated with the industry is the best, especially in the oil and gas where just a little error can have a tremendous effect to the economy, Health and safety. Training under Morendat Institute of Oil and Gas was a dream come true for me as I had the opportunity to experience first hand exposure to live operation of plant activities. What makes the institute great is the hands on experience that you will not get in any other place. When you realize what you are taught in universities and what the industry requires is totally different, then one would greatly appreciate the need for hands on exposure training the institute offers.
